僅從安全角度看，微軟一直沒有取消XP SP3的發(fā)布計(jì)劃。本來Windows XP SP3打算在2006年夏季前發(fā)布，但是到了1月中，微軟改變了計(jì)劃。

之后，由于Windows vista的一般利用率不好而使得XP SP3延期，原因很簡單，微軟沒有理由在此時(shí)為已經(jīng)發(fā)布6年的老操作系統(tǒng)發(fā)布重要更新，否則定會(huì)沖擊Vista的銷售。

根據(jù)來自微軟的線索，Vista SP1將會(huì)在2007年底發(fā)布，XP SP3將會(huì)在2008年發(fā)布。也就是說XP SP3的發(fā)布從2006年一直被延期到2008年。

5月21日，微軟宣布了與可信賴計(jì)算組的互操作性墨水合作新聞稿中似乎透露了XP SP3的存在：

'Single agent included in Windows: Computers running Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, and future versions of Windows XP will include the NAP Agent component as part of the core operating system. The NAP Agent will be used for both NAP and TNC.'

請注意其中的'future versions of Windows XP'字樣，XP的未來版本指的是誰?

如果還有些模糊，請看微軟網(wǎng)絡(luò)部門主管Henry Sanders如何說的：

'The SoH protocol now allows 'client standardization,' as organizations can now standardize on the (SoH) client protocol, regardless of their NAC infrastructure. The SoH client is available in Windows Vista, will be available in the next service pack of Windows XP, and through NAP partners for non-Microsoft operating systems,'

請注意黑體字部分，已經(jīng)很明顯了，Windows XP Servioce Pack 3的確會(huì)在2008年發(fā)布。
